Hey all!
Yesterday, the French Open kicked off. A Grand Slam full of great stories. And one of them will always be Michael Chang vs. Ivan Lendl.
A match where, even today, you still remember what the living room looked like. What the carpet smelled like. How the commentary crackled through the old tube TV.
David vs. Goliath on clay, as some called it.
It’s one of the moments that made 58g exist in the first place.
A 17-year-old against the world No. 1 at the time. Lendl looked like a machine made of steel. Chang looked more like someone who still had homework to do after the match. A matchup that seemed decided before the first rally had even started.
And then something strange happened.
Cramps. Moonballs. An underarm serve. A completely rattled Ivan Lendl. Framed by an electrified crowd and an iconic Reebok outfit.
For our limited Roland Garros drop, we’re now retelling this match. Not as an abstract graphic, but frame by frame, in detail. Because this match was full of moments you still see clearly in your head more than 35 years later.
And because great hero stories deserve great visuals, we brought in someone who knows a thing or two about heroes.

Bringing Chang vs. Lendl onto fabric.
Moy Rodríguez Marco (Spain, 1993) is a comic artist based in Barcelona. Over the years, he’s worked with Marvel, DC, Hasbro and a long list of characters most of us grew up with - from Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel to Batman and the Power Rangers.
Now he’s bringing that same storytelling to one of tennis’ greatest matches.

Including:
• cramps and chaos
• moonballs flying into the stratosphere
• the legendary underarm serve
• Lendl’s oversized wristbands
• and, of course, Chang’s iconic Reebok outfit
The Front:
A reinterpretation of the classic comic rivalry stare-down, together with details of the legendary match.
Each piece is produced in limited batches in Portugal. Current pieces will start shipping in approximately 4 weeks.
